Tewkesbury Medieval Festival
This world reknown festival happens each July on and around the bloody meadow. The medieval festival re-enacts the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471 - the decisive battle in the Wars of the Roses. Wander round the medieval encampment, enjoy food and drink, stalls, music, dancing and of course the battle itself.
The Water Festival arrives in the town in September and is a celebration of our waterways. Tewkesbury has been shaped by the rivers that flow past the town and this festival shows all-comers the enjoyment that we can take from the water.
A traditional Mop Fair takes to the streets in October. Fairground rides, shrieks of laughter, music and bright lights fill the town and make it a great place for all the family. Enjoy stalls with yummy food, try your hand at the tombola or simply relax in one of the many hostelries and take in the atmosphere!
December is of course welcomed with the Christmas Lights and Christmas Festival. Starting at the end of November and continuing during the festive season, there is plenty to do and see. Test your balance on our ice rink or get close and cuddly with a few reindeer. You can relax with a coffee concert and mince pie or you can enjoy all the fun of the panto at our local theatre. Whatever you choose to do, we know you'll have great time!
